The University of West Florida football team will begin another season nationally ranked.

The Argos check in at No. 11 in the American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division II preseason poll.

The UWF women’s soccer team is picked to finish as the runner-up in the Gulf South Conference this season.

The Argos are coming off a year where they went 14-3-3 and reached the regional final of the NCAA tournament. That postseason appearance was their 18th in program history.

The Argos went 12-3-4 last season and reached the NCAA tournament for the eighth time in program history.

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos have added one of the Miami Marlins’ top prospects to its roster.

Nasim Nunez, promoted to Double-A Pensacola is No. 17 in the Marlins system and was a second-round pick in 2019.

Single-game tickets for the University of West Florida football team go on sale to the general public at Noon Monday.

Tickets can be purchased through the UWF Athletic Ticket Office. A limited number of season tickets are on sale as well. All home games will be played at Pen Air Field, which is on the UWF campus.
