But their hopes of claiming the crown will have to wait after a 5-3 loss to Biloxi Tuesday night in Mississippi.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos pitcher Andrew Nardi has been promoted to Triple-A Jacksonville.

Nardi owns a 1.40 ERA in 19 1/3 innings of work. He has struck out 31 batters.

Bryan Hoeing helped the Pensacola Blue Wahoos earn a split in their series with Biloxi. Hoeing won his second game of the year as Pensacola came away with a 4-1 win.

He threw seven scoreless innings and allowed only two hits. Hoeing struck out eight.
