UWF to host football camps in July
A big weekend of camps is ahead at the University of West Florida in early July.
The Argos will host a Friday Night Lights camp on July 8 and then a Specialist Show Out camp on July 10. That same day, UWF will have a Sunday Night Showdown camp.
Nardi promoted to Jacksonville
Pensacola Blue Wahoos pitcher Andrew Nardi has been promoted to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Nardi owns a 1.40 ERA in 19 1/3 innings of work. He has struck out 31 batters.
Hoeing leads Blue Wahoos to win
Bryan Hoeing helped the Pensacola Blue Wahoos earn a split in their series with Biloxi. Hoeing won his second game of the year as Pensacola came away with a 4-1 win.
He threw seven scoreless innings and allowed only two hits. Hoeing struck out eight.
Argos roll over Lee in regular-season finale
Teala Howard, Madelyn Vazquez and Brett Leiva all tallied two hits apiece as the University of West Florida softball team closed out the regular season with a 10-2 win over Lee on Sunday afternoon.
Argos move up in national softball poll
The UWF softball team has moved up one spot in this week’s National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll.
Argos win opening baseball series
Tyler Dowdy allowed just one run in just over seven innings of work Sunday to help UWF secure their first series win over Florida Southern since 2015.
