Pace softball players ran to the outfield, cheering, smiling and savoring every moment of being crowned District 1-6A champions once again.
They defeated Navarre 5-1 Thursday to claim the title, beating the Raiders on the strength of three home runs, a brilliant pitching effort by Hannah DeMarcus and a defense that stands tall in big moments.

Future Alabama Crimson Tide player Nash Pires perfectly summed up Pace’s dominating performance in Game 1 of a Region 1-6A semifinal series against Tocoi Creek Wednesday night.
“We are just out here playing the game of baseball, having fun,” Pires said.

Jay and Central went head-to-head Tuesday night in Game 2 of a three-game series to determine who moves on to the regional baseball final.
In the end, the Royals prevailed, topping the Jaguars 12-7  to even up the series.

Pace’s beach volleyball team had its season come to an end Tuesday with a loss to Beachside in the Region 1-2A tournament.

Milton’s softball team is headed to the district championship game.
The Panthers broke open a tied game in the sixth inning, scoring five runs in the bottom half of it to put away Gulf Breeze in a District 1-5A semifinal in Milton Monday night.

Central’s softball team didn’t let its 2025 season end without a fight.
The Jaguars battled back from an early deficit before coming up short in an 11-7 loss to Baker in a Rural District 1 quarterfinal Monday night in Paxton.

Central’s girls basketball team has a new head coach.
Stephani Perritt was named to the position Monday morning. 

Quincy Wilson has been a leader at the plate this season for Central’s baseball team.
The senior standout is hitting over .500 and has played a key role for the Jaguars in their run to the regional tournament.

Jay, Pace and Milton wrapped up their regular seasons in softball this past week and are in good shape to make the regional tournament heading into district tourney play.
The Royals and Patriots are atop their respective regions, with Jay No. 1 in Rural Region 1 as well as the state. Reigning state champion Pace is ranked first in Region 1-6A and second in the state while Milton is sixth in Region 1-5A.

Former Pace softball star Jayden Heavener is in the running for National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I Freshman of the Year.
Heavener is one of two LSU players on the list, which features 25 players. Teammate Tori Edwards is the other.
