Pace star Amaya Pablo is headed to Texas later this month for the US Army All-American Flag Bowl.


Pablo is among a select group of flag football athletes from across the nation invited to play in the game, which takes place Dec. 21 at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas.

Winter sports are well underway and there were no shortage of impressive performances last week.


Pace’s AJ Bon Jorno turned in one of them as he recorded a hat trick in Pace’s 3-1 win over Rocky Bayou Wednesday.

Kelly Gillis only won six games in three years as the head coach of the Milton Panther football team.


But beyond the win-loss column, he’s thankful for his time as the head coach and believes he helped change the culture at a school he graduated from and has coached at for more than two decades.

Flag football remains a sport on the rise and Chris Raggard has aided that growth in his time with the Pace Patriots.


Now, he’ll take his coaching talents to the collegiate level after being named the first flag football coach in program history at Lindsey Wilson College, an NAIA school in Kentucky.

Tony Carter has stepped down as the head football coach at Pine Forest and has put his name in the hat for the open head coaching position at Milton.

Pace’s boys basketball team is determined to turn things around this year after winning only four games a year ago.


While the Patriots went into Thanksgiving break still searching for their first win, there were signs of promise in a loss to Pine Forest on the final day of the EscaRosa Challenge in Milton.

Throwing down dunks. Drilling 3-pointers. Burying contested shots. Defending as if their life depended on it.


That was the Milton Panthers Tuesday night against Escambia in a 69-29 win to close out the EscaRosa Challenge at home on a high note.

Pace played basketball for the first time in a week when it took on Navarre last Monday night.


Despite the layoff, it wasn’t a bad night at all for the Patriots, who defeated Navarre 46-31 for their first win of the year.

Two Pace athletes signed national letters of intent on Nov. 13.


Tucker Ricks is headed to the University of West Florida to continue his baseball career while Kiiaana Gavere is headed to Lindsey Wilson College to wrestle at the next level.

Jay standouts Brady Godwin and Grayson Shehan are both headed to the next level to play baseball.


Godwin signed with Pensacola State on Nov. 13 while Shehan signed with Johnson University in Tennessee that same day.
