Pace’s baseball program is accustomed to producing talent, sending countless players on to college and even the pros.


Four more were officially added to that run of success Dec. 11 as Grant Walters, Glenn Brooks, Nash Pires and Madox Land all signed their national letters of intent.

One night after crushing Robertsdale by nearly 60, Milton’s girls basketball team knew it was going to be nothing short of a battle against Navarre Tuesday night.

Rashaun Elzy has embraced the opportunity to be a leader on the floor for the Milton Panthers.


And it’s working out well so far for the senior guard.

Autumn Boutwell is known for her 3-point shooting ability. But the 1,000th point of the Central standout’s high school career was reached at the free-throw line.

Joeseph Skipworth signed his name on his national letter of intent to continue his football career at Mississippi State as the crowd inside a packed media center at Pace clapped and cheered.

Tylon Lee’s college decision came down to two choices: Florida State or Mississippi.


Sitting at a table inside a packed media center at Pace on Friday, he picked up the FSU hat first, gave it a look and then set it down before picking up the Ole Miss hat and nearly putting it on.

Pace head football coach Kent Smith is retiring. He made the announcement to his team Friday morning.


Smith, the coach of the program for the last nine years, had one of his best seasons this past year, guiding the Patriots to a District 1-6A championship and appearance in the regional playoffs.

Zoe Mattes became one of the best goalies in the area in girls soccer last year and has carried the confidence she gained into this season.


Mattes made nearly 100 saves and sported a goals against average under two as she helped Pace reach the district final and regional tournament.
