Pace’s girls basketball team is undefeated through nine games. The Patriots notched their ninth victory of the season Tuesday with a 48-41 win over Fort Walton Beach.

It has been a fun ride so far for the Panthers, who have not only flipped the script, but have turned it on its head.

Milton’s boys soccer team was unable to complete a season sweep of Freeport last Tuesday night at Hurley Manning Field, falling 4-2 to the Bulldogs.

The Panthers had beaten Freeport 2-0 on Nov. 27 but fell behind 1-0 at halftime this time around and was unable to take control in the second half.

It was all going so well for Milton’s girls basketball team. Kayla Willis used a bounce pass to get the ball to Gabi Wright for a layup that pushed the Panther lead to nine late in the fourth quarter against Navarre last Tuesday night.

Everything changed in the final minutes, however, as Navarre rallied past Milton, which suffered a  39-37 District 1-6A loss to the Raiders.

Five Pace athletes signed national letters of intent earlier this month.

Two of those athletes are headed to the Division I level, with softball standout Jayden Heavener signing with LSU and star golfer Braden Duvall bound for Southern Mississippi.

Pace has become one of the better soccer teams in the area.

But on this chilly, see-your-breath kind of night for the Patriots at the Navarre Soccer Complex, it didn’t go the Patriots’ way.

Kai Sam has been playing soccer since he was 5 years old.

But his playing days hit a bit of a roadblock freshman year at Milton.

Central’s Sasha Hatcher plays a lot of sports.

She’s a basketball player, a cross-country and track athlete, and last year, she became a volleyball player as well.

AJ BonJorno found the back of the net midway through the first half of Pace’s boys soccer game against West Florida Tech Monday night in Pensacola.

He showed his excitement, pumping his fists and then embracing teammates who were quick to celebrate with him.
