Milton’s four wards should have one seat each on the city council, and each councilmember should be elected by her or his ward’s voters, Councilman Mike Cusack suggested during last week’s council work session.

Wednesday, March 20, was a busy day for Central School in Allentown. The school turned its football field and stadium into a staging ground for tractors, combines, livestock, science experiments, vendors and even a petting zoo.

Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit secured nearly $150,000 through a multistate action against Lincare Inc., a durable medical equipment supplier. The action resolves allegations that Lincare knowingly submitted, or caused to be submitted, false claims to various government health care programs, including Medicaid, for conduct related to its rentals of non-invasive home ventilation devices.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy on New Hope Rd. in Gulf Breeze has come under the scrutiny of Santa Rosa County officials, Midway Fire Department, and Department of Children and Families in recent days as a result of a fire safety inspection.

The Santa Rosa Education Foundation invited every school in the Santa Rosa School District to nominate one teacher for the 2024 Santa Rosa Rookie of the Year award.  All full-time teachers in their third year or less of teaching were eligible for this award.  This included total teaching experience, not just in Santa Rosa public schools. 

Hurlburt Field – At the beginning of this year, three U.S. Air Force Staff Sergeants came together over a mutual desire to improve their squadron.
