County, City of Milton hold Veterans Day ceremony
November 13, 2025
Santa Rosa County, in conjunction with the City of Milton, held a Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, November 11, with a county commissioner, decorated veterans and city council members in attendance. The Milton High School ROTC began the event by presenting the colors, followed by MHS Choir performing the Star-Spangled Banner.
County Commissioners approve conservation communities

At the Monday, November 10 Land Development Code meeting, the Board of Santa Rosa County Commissioners passed several amendments to the LDC, including the controversial item on conservation communities, also called alternative subdivisions.

Veterans Day is held annually each Nov. 11 in honor of all of those who have served in the U.S. military.
In addition to remembering the sacrifices of those who served, the day is also filled with a variety of discounts from various businesses and restaurants for veterans.

U.S. Rep. Jimmy Patronis this spring won a special election to replace former U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz in a Northwest Florida district. Patronis, a Republican, served nearly eight years as the state’s chief financial officer before his April election to Congressional District 1. Patronis, whose father and uncle started the popular Captain Anderson’s restaurant in Panama City, also served in the state House and as a member of the Florida Public Service Commission. Kukuk wrongful death suit claims bars had responsibility to stop drunk driver

Rita and Robert Kukuk, on behalf of their deceased son Luca Kukuk, filed a wrongful death suit in September against restaurants and bars Calverts in the Heights, Mugs ‘N Jugs, and Cosse’s Place, along with drunk driver Leslie Highstreet. In the lawsuit, they claim the restaurants had a responsibility to prevent Highstreet from driving while intoxicated and illegally supplied alcohol to Highstreet, who the complaint classified as “habitually addicted to alcohol.”
