The June 17, 2024 “precautionary boil water notice” is hereby rescinded following repair of the well motor and the satisfactory completion of the bacteriological survey showing that the water is safe to drink.

This year’s event will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 at Benny Russell Park, 5417 W Spencer Field Road in Pace. Various organizations will showcase what their organizations do for the Santa Rosa community and be available for demonstrations. Food will be available, as well as activities for kids.
Precautionary boil water notice for Bagdad-Garcon Point Water System in effect

Low pressure has occurred and/or a loss of pressure has been experienced.
Therefore, as a precaution, the Bagdad – Garcon Point Water System, Inc. advises that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
Intergovernmental agreement signed between NAS Whiting Field, City of Milton, Santa Rosa County

The Santa Rosa County Board of Commissioners, the city of Milton and NAS Whiting Field signed an intergovernmental agreement on June 13 that will allow the two local governments to provides services to the military.
School board appoints seven to new positions, including four principals

There was a significant shake-up in Santa Rosa District Schools in June.
At the June 13 school board meeting, the district appointed seven people to new positions at schools throughout the district, including four principals at Holley Navarre Primary School, Avalon Middle School, East Milton Elementary School and Gulf Breeze Elementary School.
