At the Santa Rosa Board of County Commissioners meeting on Jan. 6, Commissioner Rhett Rowell spoke about changing the way the county and landowners think about conservation easements.

Santa Rosa County republicans will have a special election to fill the U.S. House of Representatives seat in Congressional District 1, vacated by former Rep. Matt Gaetz.

Each representative is elected to a two-year term serving the people of a specific congressional district.

The native tree is known as the longleaf pine and grows across the southeast from Southern Virginia reaching all the way to Texas. On Friday, Dec. 3, Andrew DeMartin and his wife, Lacey, celebrated the opening of their second restaurant, Andy D’s Roadhouse, which is located off Hwy. 90 at the former Grover T’s BBQ location. The couple opened their first restaurant, Andy D’s, in Navarre in 2023 and did better than they could have hoped for.

Santa Rosa County is growing well past its infrastructure and in the past year has added more than 1,812 lots to its housing base.
