The current building utilized by the fire department was built by the original volunteer firefighters, but renovations have gotten expensive, and plans are in place to demolish the current structure and build a new one.

Governor awards more than $12 million in northwest Florida through Job Growth Grant Fund

Governor Ron DeSantis awarded workforce development and infrastructure improvements funds through the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund (JGGF) and the Defense Infrastructure Grant (DIG). Awards were made to Pensacola State College, the city of DeFuniak Springs, Santa Rosa County, and Jackson County for projects that will support the aviation and aerospace industry, the military and defense industry, and increase access to workforce housing.
