Saving the Longleaf Pine

When floating down Blackwater River before, it is hard to ignore the abundance of pine trees in the area. The native tree is known as the longleaf pine and grows across the southeast from Southern Virginia reaching all the way to Texas. In what was formerly known as Mill Town, the city of Milton has a long history with the tree with the scales of give and take in a continuous fluctuation.
