On March 21, Milton Police Chief Anthony “Tony” Tindell celebrated his retirement after 36 years of service.

On March 19, a 200-acre wildfire broke north of Chumuckla in Santa Rosa County. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Santa Rosa County Commissioner Rhett Rowell has proposed modifying the Rural Protection Zone. If passed, it will help protect farmland and agriculture.

The Zoning Board will meet on March 27 to consider Rowell’s proposal. They will review amending the Land Development Code to repeal and replace the Rural Protection Plan Map, which outlines the Rural Protection Zone and the Rural Protection Transition Area.

MILTON, Fla. – March 20, 2025 –The City of Milton has officially lifted the precautionary Boil Water Advisory that was issued on March 17, 2025, following a fire hydrant failure caused by a pressure regulator valve malfunction.

The City of Milton Public Utilities Department has issued a Boil Water Advisory effective immediately for multiple areas due to a fire hydrant failure caused by a pressure regulator valve malfunction. This advisory affects residents on the following streets and will remain in effect until Thursday morning, March 20, 2025, pending water quality results.
