Santa Rosa Medical Group has opened an urgent care to provide residents in Pace access to a medical facility seven days a week.

Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce held the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Oct. 8 and the healthcare providers at the location had the honor of cutting the ribbon with a large pair of gold-colored scissors.

Since 2020, Santa Rosa County has donated the most jars in the Peanut Butter Challenge. This year the county hopes to win again for the fifth year in a row.

University of Florida and Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension offices started the initiative in 2012 as a statewide effort to fight hunger. The participating extension offices have a friendly competition for bragging rights of the most jars donated.

National Custodian Day is nationally celebrated on Oct. 2 and the timing couldn’t have been more fitting as Jay High School custodian John Gill recently marked his 45-year anniversary of working as a custodian. He’s spent the last 41 years at Jay High School.
