Santa Rosa County Animal Services is excited to host this year’s Fall Festival Adoption Event on Saturday, Oct. 25, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 4451 Pine Forest Rd. in Milton. All adoption fees will be waived.
Every year, the Fenner Bike Ride comes to Milton. Bikers line up at their starting lines, helmets on, focused on the trail that lies ahead, whether it’s the 18-, 44-, 64- or 100-mile trail. This year, on Oct. 25, the event is coming around again.

An approved background check is now required for Eglin Recreation Permitholders who hike on any of the more than 60 miles of the Florida Trail that cross the Eglin Air Force Base reservation, as well as for permitholders who explore other parts of the reservation’s nearly 255,000 acres that are open to conditional public access.
Alfredo Mendoza Montero, 45, of Mexico, was sentenced to two years and one day in federal prison after having pleaded guilty to charges of passport fraud, false impersonation of a citizen, and aggravated identity theft. The sentence was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
