Wellness Weekend: What does the Bible say about mental health?

Joel Beck, a youth pastor at West Florida Baptist Church in Milton, said mental health is one of the major challenges facing area residents, along with hunger and drugs. This Saturday and Sunday, March 16-17, the church will host a Wellness Weekend with Inspire Counseling Ministry. The topic? “Find Hope in the Scriptures: Overcoming Burnout, Depression, and Anxiety Through Clinically Informed, Spiritual-Applied Wisdom.”

Dr. John Walker, a Milton native who attended Mt. Pilgrim African Baptist Church and graduated with the Milton High School Class of 1985, had a momentous 2023. He earned a Doctor of Theology degree from The Empowerment Theological Institute & Bible Seminary and published his first book, “I Decree Your Apocalypse: Uncover Your Mystery.”
