Construction Career Days offers students hands-on experience

In recent years, the state of Florida has pushed for greater educational opportunities for trade and vocational training. On April 16 and 17, students from Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton counties were given the opportunity to go to Milton to take part in Northwest Florida Construction Career Days.

In the annual rankings released on March 27, 2024, UWF ranked No. 5 and was the only Florida State University System institution to earn recognition from Military Friendly® in the large public Top Ten category.

Going into their March 6 negotiation with Santa Rosa District Schools, David Godwin of the Santa Rosa Professional Educators said the two sides were at an impasse over a contract for instructional staff. Santa Rosa Professional Educators is the union which represents instructional staff such as teachers in the county’s public schools.
