UPDATE: A body has been recovered following the search.
The search continues for a man who jumped off the Backwater Bridge on Interstate 10 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission, the US Coast Guard and Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for the man. According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol, a vehicle was westbound on Interstate 10 on the Backwater Bridge, in the area of mile marker 27.
The driver, who is unknown, appeared to have intentionally struck the concrete barrier wall, according to FHP. After striking the wall, the driver jump off the bridge and into the water.
