Santa Rosa County schools see across-board student performance improvements

Dr. Barber, Superintendent of Santa Rosa County District Schools, attributed the improvements to the dedication and efforts of the district’s teachers, staff, students and families.
“Our students continue to excel, and this achievement is a testament to the relentless work of our educators and support personnel,” Barber said. “Their commitment makes this success possible.”
Additional highlights include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Overall increase in proficiency by 2.9% from 1,347 points in 2023-2024 to 1,387 points in 2024-2025.
- ELA (Grades 3-10) – Increased 1% overall from 62% in 2023-2024 to 63% in 2024-2025.
- Geometry – Increased 7% overall from 59% in 2023-2024 to 66% in 2024-2025.
- Biology – Increased 2% overall from 75% in 2023-2024 to 77% in 2024-2025.
- Civics – Increased 4% overall from 73% in 2023-2024 to 77% in 2024-2025.
- U.S. History – Increased 1% overall from 76% in 2023-2024 to 77% in 2024-2025.
Grade-level highlights include, but are not limited to, the following:
English Language Arts
- 6th Grade increased 4% overall from 64% in 2023-2024 to 68% in 2024-2025.
- 7th Grade increased 4% overall from 57% in 2023-2024 to 61% in 2024-2025.
- 8th Grade increased 7% overall from 56% in 2023-2024 to 63% in 2024-2025.
- 9th Grade increased 1% overall from 61% in 2023-2024 to 62% in 2024-2025.
- 10th Grade increased 2% overall from 62% in 2023-2024 to 64% in 2024-2025.
Math
- 6th Grade increased 3% overall from 66% in 2023-2024 to 69% in 2024-2025.
- 7th Grade increased 4% overall from 53% in 2023-2024 to 57% in 2024-2025.
- 8th Grade increased 2% overall from 71% in 2023-2024 to 73% in 2024-2025.
Science
- 8th Grade increased 4% overall from 54% in 2023-2024 to 58% in 2024-2025.
