Milton man dies at scene of accident
The crash involved a black sedan traveling southbound on Highway 89 and a white pickup truck traveling northbound on Highway 89.
Florida Highway Patrol says the sedan left the southbound land and crossed into the northbound lane and the driver of the pickup truck didn’t have time to react to avoid the crash. The vehicles collided head-on and began rotating.
The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead on arrival and the driver of the truck was airlifted to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol Homicide Investigation Unit continues to investigate this crash.
On September 9, 2023, at approximately 8:58 AM, The Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched to and began
investigating a traffic crash in the area of State Road 89 and County Road 182. The crash involved a black in color
sedan which was traveling southbound on Highway 89. A white in color pickup truck was traveling northbound on
Highway 89. The sedan began leaving the southbound traffic lane and crossed into the northbound lane, the driver
of the truck did not have enough time to react. As a result the vehicles collided head on. Upon impact both vehicles
rotated with the truck facing westbound on in the northbound lane. The sedan facing eastbound in the left shoulder.
The driver of the sedan, a 48 year old Milton man, was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the pickup
truck, a 38 year old Milton man was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries. The crash remains under
investigation at this time by the Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Investigation unit
