Early job opens Metzler’s eyes to teaching’s ‘ah-ha!’ moments

Tanya Metzler’s first job was teaching. She was a 16-year-old Pace High School student and a part-time cheerleading instructor for Santa Rosa Community School.
Tanya Metzler, Pea Ridge Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year and one of five semifinalists for the countywide award, reviews a math assignment with her fifth-grade students.
