City of Milton announces Riverfest 2025
The City of Milton is making a splash this Independence Day with Riverfest 2025, happening Friday, July 4, at the Riverwalk and Jernigan’s Landing along the Blackwater River.
This marks the first time the City of Milton is officially hosting the annual Riverfest event, which was previously managed by the Santa Rosa County Chamber of Commerce.

This free, family-friendly celebration features water slides, live music, the Blackwater Pyrates Duck Race, and a fireworks show—offering something for all ages.
City Event Schedule (See Maps Attached):
- 3:00 PM – 8:45 PM – Water slides open to the public at Jernigan’s Landing (5158 Willing Street)

- 5:00 PM – Blackwater Pyrates Great Milltown Duck Race begins from the Highway 90 Bridge
Boaters must clear the area between the Highway 90 Bridge and the train trestle from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. - 7:00 PM – Bands on the Blackwater concert featuring the Chase Mitchell Band at Jernigan’s Landing
- 9:00 PM (approximately) – Fireworks Display
The river must be completely clear of boat traffic between Russell Harbor and the Highway 90 Bridge by 8:30 p.m. for the fireworks to launch.
Daytime Event (Hosted by the Santa Rosa County Chamber of Commerce & Tourist Information Center):
- 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM – Freedom Car & Bike Show at 4315 Avalon Boulevard, Milton, FL
Enjoy music, awards, and retail vendors prior to the downtown festivities.
Street Closures & Parking (Downtown – July 4):
- Willing and Pine Streets will close to public traffic at 7:00 a.m.
- Tow trucks will begin removing unauthorized vehicles at 9:00 a.m.
- Early arrival is recommended for best parking availability
River Access Restrictions:
- No mooring or docking at the Riverwalk all day (drop-offs only)
- No anchoring between the south side of the Highway 90 Bridge and north of the train trestle from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. during the Duck Race
- No boat traffic between Russell Harbor Landing and north of the Hwy 90 Bridge from 8:30–9:30 p.m. Fireworks cannot launch if boats are in the safety zone
Accessibility & Emergency Services (See Maps Attached):
- 30 accessible parking spaces will be available behind the courthouse for vehicles with a valid disability permit.
Access will be granted via Highway 90 and North Willing Street - Onsite emergency services will be stationed behind the courthouse at Jernigan’s Landing
- Media parking will be available via the Willing Street entrance only. Media passes must be requested in advance through the Public Information Office
Public Reminders:
- Bring water, sunscreen, and shade
- Arrive early for the best fireworks viewing spots
- Be mindful of street closures, volunteers, first responders, and river safety regulations
