Gulf Coast Guns shares message about future
Tuesday morning, Feb. 25, the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office executed a court order at Gulf Coast Guns in Milton to seize assets or “collateral” due on a “defaulted” loan. Photos and video were shown of deputies emptying the store of inventory. But throughout the day, supporters voiced their support for the store on social media.
The Sheriff’s Office said they were following the orders of the court and had no other involvement in the civil case.
Commissioners change course on task force
In an effort to address public concerns about the Citizen’s Land Development Code Task Force, Santa Rosa County commissioner Kerry Smith led the way for the rest of the commissioners to chart a new course for the task force.

Just before noon Tuesday, Feb. 25, Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office executed a court order at Gulf Coast Guns in Milton. The order, which was issued by a Judge in Santa Rosa County, dealt with the seizing of items from the gun store.

Traffic shift planned for U.S. 90 Westbound lanes over Simpson River Bridge
The U.S. 90 westbound travel lanes over Simpson River Bridge will be shifted the week of Sunday, Feb. 23, to allow crews to complete bridge construction.

No help for Mulat Bayou
The overnight rain Feb. 18-19 brought more red clay down the drainage ways from behind Damon Drive Cottages and reportedly fed it into Mulat Bayou. The residents nearby say there are no solutions in sight and no help on the horizon.
Milton Garden Club grows with knowledge
On Feb. 11 the Milton Garden Club celebrated Valentine’s Day early with a guest speaker who spoke on a matter close to their hearts, gardening tips and tricks.
John Todorovich is a teacher University of Florida and a master gardener with the school’s extension office known as the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS). He spoke about understanding garden hazards and explained why they occur.
