City to limit parking on Carmell Ridge Circle
The Milton City Council on Tuesday approved erecting “No Parking” signs in a tiny subdivision created from Hurricane Ivan disaster recovery housing.
At least one resident thinks that limiting parking to one side of Carmell Ridge Circle will create a new emergency.
Santa Rosa County Animal Services Seeks Medical Fosters for Kittens
With ‘kitten season’ in full swing, the Santa Rosa County Animal Shelter is looking for “medical fosters” who can help care for sick kittens that are not old enough to adopt. SRCAS says these kittens need a safe place to rest and recover until they are well and/or at least eight weeks old.
Medical fosters will be responsible for administering treatment, bringing fosters to shelter appointments, and providing a loving environment for recovery. Medical treatment and supplies are provided by the shelter, at no cost to the foster parent. Body found in Jake’s Bayou identified as Louisiana man
Following several days of investigation, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office gave an update on the case of the body found floating in Jake’s Bayou in Milton on June 14.
In a June 17 press conference held by the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Bob Johnson identified the body of a man found in Jake’s Bayou as that of Joshua James. He was identified through fingerprint analysis.

Santa Rosa County Animal Services “Cheaper Than Gas” adoption event
Santa Rosa County Animal Services (SRCAS) announced that they are hosting a special adoption event – “Cheaper Than Gas” – starting Friday, June 10 through Saturday, June 18.
All adoptions are only $4 and include spay or neuter, flea prevention, age appropriate vaccinations, initial dewormer, microchip, an adoption starter kit, coupons and more. For those interested in visiting the shelter for the adoption event, appointments are required.
Bus stop changes coming for Santa Rosa students
Starting this fall, students in Santa Rosa County may have to walk further to their bus stop. At the May school board meeting, the board approved a proposed change to the distance between bus stops.
