This meeting is being held to offer interested persons new information, provide
an opportunity to learn about the project, and
allow them to share their views. There will be maps,
drawings, and other information on display. Santa Rosa County representatives and project
team members will be available to explain proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments.
Project Information
Santa Rosa County is conducting a PD&E Study to consider widening
C.R. 197 Chumuckla Highway from U.S. 90 to Five Points Intersection. This project is
intended to support all modes of t ransportation by increasing capacity on
Chumuckla Highway by widening the roadway to relieve congestion, decrease travel
times, and support bicycle and pedestrian movements.
The PD&E Study will consist of developing and evaluating alternative road alignments
to determine a preferred alternative that will increase the safe and efficient movement
for all modes of transportation.
During the PD&E Study, an analysis will be done to review the project's impact on the
social, economic, cultural, natural, and physical environment. A Location and Design
Concept will be developed in accordance with Santa Rosa County and Florida
Department of Transportation (FOOT) policy, procedures, and requirements.

We invite you to participate by providing your comments and ideas on the proposed
improvements. You can get involved in various ways-through phone, mail, or email. All
comments provided, or postmarked, on or before Monday, June 30, 2025, will become
part of the official project record.
