The partnership provides families with free access to resources designed to help students stay safe, informed and successful online.
“We are excited to continue offering this valuable resource to our families so they can stay informed about emerging technologies, understand the digital platforms their children use, and feel confident supporting their child’s online experiences,” said Dr. Karen Barber, superintendent of Santa Rosa County District Schools.
Through the district-sponsored partnership, families receive free access to:
- More than 40 live parent events featuring online safety experts and discussions on social media, artificial intelligence, gaming and digital wellness.
- More than 450 on-demand resources, including videos, guides and conversation starters covering apps, trends, online challenges, privacy and internet safety.
- Student-led videos created by teens for teens to help families spark meaningful discussions about responsible online behavior.
In addition to year-round access to SmartSocial resources, families are encouraged to participate in the organization’s September virtual workshops, which cover topics such as screen time, video app engagement, gaming safety and artificial intelligence.
A featured event will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, titled “AI for Student Success: Unlocking Cutting-Edge Tools & Skills to Prepare Students for Their Future.”
The virtual session will explore AI basics, strategies to support student learning, online safety considerations and the benefits of AI in preparing students for future success.
