Steven Bienkowski spent 26 years as a Navy surface warfare officer, most of them at sea. Nearly a decade after trading in his dress whites for suede shoes and suave sport coats, he has been named Pace High School’s Teacher of the Year.
Bienkowski considers his sharp dress style his uniform, and the people he serves are the 170 students who pass through his classroom each day.
