Investor outbids city, spoils Lighthouse’s plans for old hospital

Dr. Joanna Johannes, president of Lighthouse Christian College, said that “God must have another plan.” Windermere LLC, a private investment company based in Milton, bid $660,000 to buy the former state hospital at 5500 Stewart Street opposite Milton High School. The City of Milton bid $600,000 for the property, with the college pledging to pay $100,000 of the city’s bid in exchange for use of the facilities as its headquarters.
A Milton investment company has bought this property at 5500 Stewart Street, a former hospital, mental institution and community care clinic that has been vacant since 2021.
