Following the discovery of Allen Phillips’ body at his home on Jan. 24, his wife Tequila Phillips has been arrested by the Wetumpka Police Department in Alabama and is waiting for extradition to Santa Rosa County.
Allen’s body was discovered after a family member called the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office requesting a wellness check at the residence. They said they were concerned about his safety because they had not heard from him in several days and his wife, Tequila, had been evasive about his whereabouts.
Deputies had to use a forced entry to get into the residence, and they found Allen dead inside. The Sheriff’s Office reported that he was in late stages of decomposition, but there was evidence of a gunshot wound to his chest. They were able to collect a firearm and shell casing.
Tequila was identified as a suspect and taken into custody by the Wetumpka Police Department. She is currently awaiting an extradition hearing where she will return to Santa Rosa County to face charges in connection with Allen’s death.
The investigation remains active.
