County, Navy to share $2.9 million cost for Clear Creek property
James Calkins hinted last year that he was working on a project to bring more recreation to north Santa Rosa County. He unveiled his plan Monday at the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners’ committee meeting.
Santa Rosa County and the U.S. Navy have agreed to buy 435.52 acres (in the two purple boxes at the top left of the map) surrounding a widened area of Clear Creek northwest of NAS Whiting Field.
