The Milton City Council was expected on Tuesday to decide whether to keep the city’s current property tax rate, adopt the rollback rate or consider an increase to offset rising operations costs.
“What you need to think about is, are you inclined to maybe raise (the millage rate) a little bit or keep it the same. In the past, there have been times when people wanted to keep it at the rollback rate,” Budget Coordinator Heidi Sroka told the council at its July 3 executive committee meeting. “That can be done, but… given how all the other costs have gone up, that would be difficult for us.”
