Milton’s incomplete answers threaten treatment plant permitting

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection has, for the third time, asked the City of Milton to answer questions about its application for a permit to dispose of wastewater on a 100-acre parcel in East Milton. The city has until Nov. 8 to respond.

Employees test wastewater in the process of being treated at Milton’s plant on Municipal Drive. The existing plant is nearing its maximum capacity, but permitting issues continue to delay construction of a replacement.
