Nearly four minutes had gone by in the opening quarter before either team scored a point. Kayla Willis finally put Milton on the board against Central with 4:30 to go, knocking down a free throw after drawing a foul going up for a shot in the paint.

A year ago in this gym, the Patriots lost to the Raiders in the district final.

Paige Phillips has long been a leader of the Milton girls soccer team. She’s also one of the area’s top scoring threats, including putting in five goals in a 9-0 win over Pine Forest last Tuesday night.

Jackson McKenzie has had his sights set on Mississippi State since middle school. And now the dream is a reality for the Pace baseball standout.

McKenzie signed a national letter of intent in November and is thrilled about the opportunity in front of him.

Shelby McKenzie has long had her sights set on playing Division I softball.

Her commitment to Florida State this past fall put the Pace star one step closer to making that dream a reality.

With her teammates screaming and cheering, and her head coach, Ty Wise, encouraging her, Dyamond Dixon began her lift, pausing for a moment with the bar on her chest and taking a few breaths before sealing the deal on a new Navarre Invitational unlimited division clean and jerk record.

Cooper Littlefield scored 10 of his 12 points in the fourth quarter to help lead Pace past Crestview in a key District 1-6A game Thursday night in Crestview.

Littlefield buried two 3-pointers in the period to help finish off a second-half rally. Pace went into halftime down 23-18.
