Santa Rosa County looks to approve a 12-month ban on data center development

Santa Rosa County could become the first county in Northwest Florida to halt any development of artificial intelligence data centers, at least until June 2027.

Commissioner Ray Eddington (left) was the only Santa Rosa County Commissioner to vote no on a proposed 12-month ban on AI data centers, citing that the proposal doesn’t go far enough.
