Milton to host open house on downtown parking, future growth

| Staff Reporters

Milton residents who weighed in online about downtown parking and walkability can soon share their ideas in person.

Downtown Milton

The city’s Planning and Development Department will host the Parking and Downtown Revitalization Open House at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at City Hall, located at 6738 Dixon St.

This follows social media posts that were shared on the city’s Facebook page last week and asked residents if the city is walkable and how much parking local businesses or the city need. The posts drew more than 300 comments on the matters, according to a news release from the city.

Planners are reviewing the city’s parking requirements as Milton prepares to update its development codes.

“We know how to draft city code, but we don’t want to build Milton’s future in a vacuum,” said Planning Director Jacob Hullett in a news release. “True community planning requires public engagement.”

At the open house, attendees can move between displays, talk with staff, ask questions and give feedback on parking and the future of downtown.
