Milton announces Riverfest 2026, celebrating America 250

The City of Milton will mark Independence Day and the nation’s 250th birthday with Riverfest 2026, a free family event set for Saturday, July 4, at Jernigan’s Landing and Downtown Milton.

The event will run from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will include live music, food vendors, children’s activities, waterslides, a duck race and a firework display caps the evening.

Festivities at Jernigan’s Landing will begin at 4 p.m. with waterslides and facepainting, along with food vendors that will run the length of the event. Event organizers say that to use the waterslides, parents or guardians must sign a waiver that can be completed online at the city’s website.

At 5 p.m., the Blackwater Pyrates Duck Race will take place along the riverwalk. At 5:30 p.m. at the main stage, the Blue Anchor Belles will perform.

At 6 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Plaza, the children’s wagon and foot parade and chalk coloring contest will begin. Both events are hosted by the Santa Rosa Arts and Culture Foundation. At 6:30 p.m., the Chase Mitchell Band will play on the main stage.

The fireworks display will light up Milton at 8:30 p.m.

With the Fourth of July event, the City of Milton announced several road closures on July 4.

  • South Willing Street and Pine Street will be closed from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
  • Highway 90 bridge will close at 5 p.m. for the duck race and reopen after duck drop.
  • Passenger drop-off will be located on Oak Street.
  • ADA parking will be available on Oak Street on a limited basis.

For boaters, there are also several rules the city has posted:

  • No docking on Riverwalk. Passenger drop-offs and pick-ups will be allowed.
  • No boating from Highway 90 bridge to train trestle from 3-8 p.m.
  • No boating from Russell Harbor Landing and train trestle from 8 p.m. to end of fireworks display.
  • No wake zone in effect all day.
