How to vote

Election day is Aug. 20, but voters may also cast a ballot by mail or participate in early voting Vote-by-Mail

Any registered and qualified voter may vote a vote-by-mail ballot. In addition, all members of the Armed Forces, their family members and members of the Merchant Marine and their family members, who are U.S. citizens, may vote-by-mail. For more information on overseas vote-by-mail voters (UOCAVA), please visit the Federal Voting Assistance Program web site at www.fvap.gov.

When requesting a vote-by-mail ballot, you must provide your name, date of birth, Florida DL/ID or the last four of your  social security number, residential address and the address to which the ballot should be mailed. You may request a ballot by completing the Vote-by-Mail Request Form on the supervisor of elections website, by calling (850) 983-1900, by faxing (850) 983-1829 or by completing the form and mailing it to 6495 Caroline St. Suite F, Milton, FL 32570 or emailing it to kirsting@santarosa.fl.gov. Requests may also be made by the voter’s immediate family or legal guardian if instructed by the voter.

A request for a vote-by-mail ballot to be mailed to a voter must be received no later than 5 p.m. on the 12th day before the election by the supervisor of elections. By delivery to a designee on election day or up to ten days prior to the day of an election. Any elector may designate in writing a person to pick up the ballot for the elector; however, the person designated may not pick up more than two vote-by-mail ballots per election, other than the designee’s own ballot, except that additional ballots may be picked up for members of the designee’s immediate family.
