Florida Forest Service Opens Applications for Southern Pine Beetle Assistance and Prevention Program

Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson and the Florida Forest Service have announced that applications are being accepted for the 2024 Southern Pine Beetle Assistance and Prevention Program for non-industrial, private forest landowners. The program runs through July 26 and includes 44 northern Florida counties, including Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Escambia counties, the southern pine beetle’s known range.
There are 44 Florida counties within the Southern Pine Beetle’s range, including Santa Rosa County and Okaloosa County. All 44 eligible for the Forest Service’s assistance and prevention program.
