Dept. of Children and Families cite ‘Hope Florida,’ focus on foster care as 2023 successes

The Department of Children and Families (Department) Secretary Shevaun Harris highlighted the Department’s most recent successes including Hope Florida, a program meant to help build economic knowledge and opportunity for families, and a 31.4% decrease in children going into the Florida foster care system since 2019.
In 2023, the Florida Department of Children and Families focused on improving the foster care system, behavioral health service access and streamlining access to government programs like Medicaid and food assistance.
