To kick off the 2026 football season, Jay traveled to Baker for the latest installment of the War on Highway 4.

When the two squads met on the field after a 45-minute lightning delay, it was one-way traffic for the Royals as they topped the Gators 35-6.

Just one week before the start of the regular season, Jay hosted Central Friday night in a Kickoff Classic. In the varsity half, the Royals topped the Jaguars 16-0.

Jaymes Youngblood has been a workhorse in the Jay Royals’ backfield, accumulating more than 1,000 rushing yards in each of the last two seasons.

And while he enters his senior season with his confidence at an all-time high, his mindset remains team oriented.

Jay’s volleyball team is set to start a new season following last year’s district championship.

Many key contributors are back for head coach Carey Locklin, who is excited about the versatility that her players provide.

After assuming kicking duties for the Jay Royals over the past three seasons,  Jacob Lewis is continuing his football journey at the next level, heading to Lighthouse Christian College.

As the dog days of summer roll on, the Jay Royals football team has been busy with its offseason practice program, where players alternate between the weight room and the practice field in hopes of putting themselves in the best position to succeed.

The Jay community takes tremendous pride in its farming roots, and those roots are well represented in the high school’s FFA program.
Not only does Jay’s FFA chapter provide students with invaluable experience in agricultural studies, but it also allows them to work hands-on to provide for people in the community.

Jay High School’s 2026 graduating class walked across the stage Thursday night to commemorate their high school careers and begin their next chapter in life.

To put a bow on spring football camp, the Jay Royals traveled across the Escambia River on May 15 for a scrimmage against longtime rival Flomaton.

After beating Paxton 14-0 in the semifinal round of the Rural District 1 tournament, Jay faced off against Northview for the championship on Thursday but fell 7-0 to the Chiefs.
