In Pace Friday Night, the stands were packed as Pace took on Choctaw on the newly named Mickey Lindsey Field. The Patriots fell 21-14 to the Indians in their non-district showdown.

Before the game, the Pace community held a ceremony to name the field in honor of the Patriots’ longtime coach.

On the Pace Patriots’ first drive last Friday night against the Catholic Crusaders, Brooks Washington put the Patriots up 7-0 with a long rushing touchdown.

Wet conditions posed a rough obstacle for the Pace Patriots to overcome in their season opener against the Fairhope Pirates.

A slow start changed quickly after a dropped snap by the Pirates turned into a long touchdown by Caden Shoemaker, beginning the Patriots’ journey to a 41-0 victory.

After winning back-to-back District 1-6A championships last week, the Pace Patriots kept the momentum rolling in their favor, beating Pine Forest 34-12 Friday night in Pensacola.


The win is the seventh in a row for Pace, which improves to 7-1.

Rivals Pace and Milton met at Milton High School for the 44th matchup between the schools on Friday night.


In the end, it was the Patriots who took home the bronze helmet after a 48-0 win over the Panthers. 

Pace quarterback Ben Tyner summarized the Patriots’ 29-6 win over the Pine Forest Eagles at home in a few words Thursday night.


“It was not pretty, but we got the job done,” Tyner said.

The Pace Patriot football team bounced back from a loss to Pensacola Catholic two weeks ago by winning against Gulf Breeze Friday night. The Patriots shut out the Dolphins 55-0.

Coming off a thrilling overtime win against a ranked team out of Alabama in week one, the Pace Patriots were ready to show that they were a leading force in the Panhandle as they took on the Catholic Crusaders in Pensacola. Friday night was nothing new for Pace, which survived nail-biter in overtime, prevailing 17-14 over Mary G Montgomery in a tightly contested season opener.


The Patriots won the game over one of the best teams in Alabama on the strength of a game-winning field goal by Caleb Nelson.

Pace finished their regular season last Friday night at home, defeating Lafayette 35-7.

The Patriots wrap up the regular season with an 8-2 record. It’s their best record in the regular season  since 2007 when they made it to the state semifinals.
