City of Milton gas line replacement update

| Staff Reporters
According to a press release from the City of Milton, Milton’s Natural Gas Line Replacement Project is moving forward, with crews beginning to wrap up construction on Magnolia Street and Lakeshore Drive.

The next areas scheduled for construction are:

  • Hunt Street and Ravine Street (Collins Drive to Conecuh Street): construction for this area is expected to begin in mid-September.
  • Conecuh Street (Berryhill Road to Park Avenue) and Park Avenue to Kincheon Street: construction is anticipated into late September and early October.
  • Alabama Street: to follow

Work timelines will remain dependent on weather and may shift due to conditions in the field, but construction crews are expected to remain active in this general area for at least the next month.

If gas must be turned off during construction, a certified technician will return to relight the appliances safely and at no cost. If residents are not home, a notice will be left at the home with instructions for follow-up service. Streets and sidewalks will be restored once the utility work is complete.

The City of Milton appreciates residents’ patience as the infrastructure project continues to modernize the community’s natural gas system. They urge residents to visit https://tinyurl.com/485w5zvz for real-time updates, road closures and notices.
