Lighthouse Private Christian Academy: A new generation leading the mission forward

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy (LPCA) is entering an exciting new season of growth, leadership, and opportunity. While the mission of providing Christ-centered education remains unchanged, a new generation of leaders is stepping forward to help guide the academy into the future while continuing to serve students and families across Northwest Florida.

One of the most significant developments at LPCA is the official appointment of Ricky Broxson as Head of School, a leadership transition that has been approved by the Christian Schools of Florida. Broxson now oversees the Gulf Breeze, Milton, and Pensacola campuses and assumes responsibility for the daily leadership and strategic direction of the academy.

Meanwhile, LPCA’s longtime leadership is expanding its impact beyond K-12 education. The academy’s former head of school Dr. Joanna Johannes will continue serving as Chairman of the Board for LPCA while focusing full-time efforts as President and CEO of Lighthouse Christian College, helping build pathways for students beyond graduation.

Broxson is joined by two talented leaders who are helping shape the next chapter of the academy: Collin Morris, Chief Operations Officer, and Logan Morris, Corporate Comptroller. Together, this leadership team – often affectionately referred to as the academy’s “young bucks” – is bringing fresh energy, innovative ideas, and a deep commitment to Christian education.

Their vision includes strengthening distinct campus identities that prepare students for a variety of future callings. The Gulf Breeze campus will continue emphasizing college preparation and academic excellence. The Milton campus is expanding vocational and trade development programs that provide real-world skills and career readiness. The Pensacola campus is building toward military-preparatory opportunities, helping students develop leadership, discipline, and service-minded character.

Beyond leadership transitions, the academy continues to receive overwhelming support from the families it serves. As discussions surrounding campus expansion continue, many parents have voiced strong support for LPCA’s growth plans, noting that the proposed expansion would enhance educational opportunities while creating little to no traffic impact in the surrounding area.

Perhaps the strongest testimony to Lighthouse’s impact comes directly from parents whose children have experienced life-changing transformation through the academy’s unique approach to education.

One parent recently shared how Lighthouse helped children who had experienced significant trauma, foster care placement, adoption, and educational challenges. According to the testimony, Lighthouse staff consistently refused to give up on students who struggled in traditional settings. Instead, teachers and administrators met each child where they were academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

The parent wrote that Lighthouse “doesn’t simply teach academics – they invest in the whole child.” The testimony praised the school’s collaboration with parents, foster families, therapists, and treatment teams while helping students develop confidence, responsibility, character, and compassion. The parent also highlighted Lighthouse’s partnerships with local organizations, including the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office, which provide students with valuable exposure to future career opportunities.

Stories like these demonstrate why Lighthouse has become such an important part of the Northwest Florida community. The academy’s mission extends beyond test scores and classrooms. It is about helping young people discover their God-given purpose while equipping them with the tools they need to succeed in life.

As Lighthouse Private Christian Academy moves forward under new leadership, one thing remains clear: the commitment to faith, family, and student success is stronger than ever. Ricky Broxson, Collin Morris, and Logan Morris represent a new generation of leadership prepared to carry the mission forward, protect the spiritual foundation of the academy, and ensure that future generations of Northwest Florida students receive an education grounded in biblical truth.

The future is bright at Lighthouse, and this new team is ready to lead the way.
