EKG requirement for new high school athletes set to take effect

Starting July 1, new high school athletes in Florida are required to take an Electrocardiogram test.


The test records the electrical activity of the heart and can detect abnormal heart rhythms that can lead to sudden cardiac arrest, the No. 1 cause of death for high school athletes on school campuses.
