Subdivision allowances draw repeat crowd
One family continues to approach the Board of County Commissioners regarding the alternative subdivision provision.
The Fowlers have been attending commissioner meetings since November, asking the board to delete the provision, and now they have a name to put to their perceived threat—Jubilee.
Former mayor, Thompson, released
Guy Thompson, the former Mayor of Milton, was released from the federal prison he was staying in two years before his set release date.
On January 17, 2020, Thompson was sentenced to 51 months in prison for embezzling over $650,000 from the United Way of Santa Rosa County, which he ran for 39 years. The sentencing came after the FBI and IRS investigated Thompson’s finances for the years of 2011-2018.

Outstanding volunteers in Santa Rosa schools named
Out of all the volunteers at Santa Rosa County schools, three were named “outstanding” for the school year. The school district divides the awards into three categories: youth, adult and senior adult.
This year’s winners are Aidan Brewer in the youth category, Timothy Chandler in the adult category and Beth Wingate in the senior adult category.

Exalt the Lord on the National Day of Prayer
The theme for this year’s National Day of Prayer was “Exalt the Lord who has established us.” National organizers took the theme from Colossians 2:6-7 and used it for the event on May 5.
According to the National Day of Prayer website, the first Thursday in May has been set aside for communities to come together and pray for the nation.
