Jay man arrested with $200k worth of spice

A Jay man was arrested Wednesday evening, March 27, after he led law enforcement on a chase which ended on Highway 87 N. The incident stemmed from a search warrant being served on the man’s property in connection with a case out of Escambia County. Travis Paul Sterback, 27, is charged with trafficking in synthetic cannabinoids, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, fleeing and eluding at high speed and firing a weapon in public.

Santa Rosa Buffalo Rock facility project submits plans to county

Buffalo Rock is moving closer to bringing a distribution facility to Santa Rosa County.

Developers affiliated with the Birmingham-based company, which bottles Dr. Pepper and Pepsi products, have submitted plans to County development services for the construction of two facilities at the Northwest Florida Industrial Park at I-10.

District approves agreement with Santa Rosa Professional Educators

Santa Rosa County School Board held a special meeting Thursday, March 14, to approve a bargaining agreement between Santa Rosa District Schools and Santa Rosa Professional Educators, the union which represents instructional staff such as teachers. The approved contract will see a 3.87% average salary increase for teachers in the district.
