A Jay man was arrested Wednesday evening, March 27, after he led law enforcement on a chase which ended on Highway 87 N. Travis Paul Sterback, 27, is charged with trafficking in synthetic cannabinoids, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, fleeing and eluding at high speed and firing a weapon in public.

Santa Rosa County School Board held a special meeting Thursday, March 14, to approve a bargaining agreement between Santa Rosa District Schools and Santa Rosa Professional Educators, the union which represents instructional staff such as teachers. The approved contract will see a 3.87% average salary increase for teachers in the district.

Going into their March 6 negotiation with Santa Rosa District Schools, David Godwin of the Santa Rosa Professional Educators said the two sides were at an impasse over a contract for instructional staff. Santa Rosa Professional Educators is the union which represents instructional staff such as teachers in the county’s public schools.
